The National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) and the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center (NEC) will convene women business owners, social funders, ecosystem builders, lenders, investors and key government officials to learn more about unique barriers faced by Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) women entrepreneurs on accessing equitable access to financing opportunities to start and grow an enterprise. Roundtable speakers and participants will explore how to best increase access to knowledge about female BIPOC founders’ lived experiences and generate evidence of how these are associated with entrepreneurial empowerment and economic equity.
This roundtable will ensure deep learning of BIPOC women entrepreneurs’ “lived experiences” related to:
Starting line exposure to entrepreneurship, networks, and fundraising
Raising startup capital
Factors that present the most significant barriers to success
Unique factors that contribute to, and that may be indicators of success
The NWBC Executive Director Tené Dolphin will provide opening remarks. The NWBC Council Member Nicole Cober and founding NEC Executive Director Nicola Corzine will moderate this virtual roundtable.
